Varieties White Grape

The most characteristic grapes, typical of the area and conformed for decades to its climate and soil, are the white Albarín, Albillo and Moscatel of small grain, in the case of the white varieties. The vineyards are made up of small payments that shape a labyrinthine and somewhat chaotic landscape. The vineyards in this area are located on slate soils, usually on a steep slope and are older than 80 years, with a planting density that ranges between 3000 and 6000 vines per hectare and low production.

Albarín Blanco

White variety with conical raceme of 1 to 3 wings of medium compactness and short peduncle. The yellowish-green grapes have an elliptical shape with a uniform size and color and flavor with a touch of muscat. The leaf is pentagonal in shape with three or five lobes, anthocyanin pigmentation of the main veins on the upper side and lower side. Petiolar sinus and open lateral sinuses in a V shape. It is also known as Blanco Verdín, especially in the Ibias area.

Albillo

White variety with clones of medium compactness, some clones and very loose clusters, others, peduncle of medium length. Spherical or slightly flattened berries of yellowish green color, pulp not colored and without any particular flavor. The adult leaf has a pentagonal shape with seven lobes, null anthocyanin pigmentation on the main veins both on the upper side and on the underside. Petiolar sinus open or with slightly overlapping lobes, with a V-shaped base; lateral sinuses with lobes slightly overlapping, very deep with a U-shaped base. It is also known as Arbillo.

Small Grain Muscat

White variety with a cylindrical and compact raceme, medium length peduncle. The grapes are spherical in shape, yellowish-green in color, with uncolored pulp and a muscat flavor. The leaf is pentagonal in shape, with five lobes; Null anthocyanin pigmentation in the main nerves both on the upper side and on the underside. Petiolar sinus slightly open or with slightly overlapping lobes, with a V-shaped base and without particularities; Upper lateral sinuses closed with slightly overlapping lobes, quite deep with a V-shaped base, lower lateral sinuses open, shallow with a V-shaped base.
